The self-publishing royalty calculator for KDP ebook, KDP paperback, ACX audiobook and IngramSpark print. Enter a list price and see your royalty per sale, then switch to monthly scenarios to model conservative, base and optimistic sales months, add Kindle Unlimited page reads, and see when the book earns back your editing and cover costs. Print the result or share it by link. Rates were verified on 13 July 2026 from the published KDP, ACX and IngramSpark rate cards, and two of them changed in 2026: KDP's 70% ebook band now runs to $12.99 and ACX pays 50% on new-model exclusive titles.

Everything runs in your browser from rates baked into the page. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere; a share link carries the calculation in the link itself.
Every rate below was read from the platform's own published rate card on 13 July 2026, with a link to the exact page. Two of these cards changed in mid-2026, so most older guides (and most AI answers) still quote stale numbers. US marketplace figures only.

Paperback royalty is 60% of list price minus printing cost at US list prices of $9.99 and above, and 50% at $9.98 and below; Expanded Distribution pays 40% minus printing. KDP's own worked example, which this calculator reproduces: a $15.00, 333-page black-ink paperback costs $5.00 to print, so (0.60 x $15.00) minus $5.00 = $4.00 per sale.
| Model | Exclusive | Non-exclusive |
|---|---|---|
| New model (effective 26 May 2026) | 50% | 30% |
| Legacy model (discontinued at year-end 2026) | 40% | 25% |
On a royalty share deal you split the royalty with your narrator. Note that Audible computes royalties on membership sales from member value rather than sticker price; the calculator models the straightforward a-la-carte case. For IngramSpark, compensation is list price x (1 minus your wholesale discount, 40% to 55% in the US) minus the unit print cost. IngramSpark does not publish its print-cost tables on an open page, so the calculator asks you to paste the print cost from IngramSpark's own tool, and its market access fee is not modelled.
