Deadline alerts, by genre

We track writing contests, literary magazine submission windows, grants and residencies, and we check every date against the organiser's own page. This alert is the same data, filtered to one genre and sent to you once a week, so you do not have to remember to come back and look.

Deadline alerts

Pick your genre

Choose one genre. You get an email on Tuesdays when something in it is closing, and nothing at all when nothing is.

One genre per address on the free alert. Prefer no email at all? Every genre is also acalendar feed you can subscribe to.

What is in it

What it costs, and what it does not

The alert is free and so is every page it links to. Nothing here moves behind a login later: the contest, magazine, grant and residency databases stay open to read, search and filter without an email address. The alert exists because deadlines recur and inboxes are where people actually notice them, not because the data is being held back. One genre per address on the free alert.

If you would rather not get email at all, take the calendar feed instead. It carries the same deadlines, updates itself, and asks for nothing.

Every genre, and its calendar feed

A genre earns an alert once we track enough live deadlines in it to be worth an email. These are the ones we do.

"Open to any genre" is its own genre here, not a catch-all: it carries the contests and calls that accept work in any form, rather than everything we track. For everything we track, take theall-deadlines calendar feed.

Not sure how to use a feed? The deadline calendar pagehas the one-line instructions for Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Outlook.
